Jerked Turkey Injection Marinade Recipe

Spice up your Thanksgiving with a spicy roast turkey or chicken! It’s easy to create a flavorful marinade and inject it into the poultry before roasting. We recently invested in a quality stainless steel meat injector, did some recipe research, and updated one of the more common online recipes using Little Bottles THE JERK Spice Blend and Frank’s RedHot Sauce. The result was AMAZING!!!

Shout out to Buffalo, NY style chicken wing sauce! We LOVE Franks RedHot!

Ingredients:

1 cup lemon juice

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

4 tablespoons Little Bottles THE JERK Spice Blend

2 teaspoons Frank’s RedHot

Preparation:

This recipe should be enough for a 10 to 12 pound bird. Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Over a low/medium heat, stir slowly until the butter is melted and ingredients have combined. Remove from heat. While the marinade is still warm, inject it into the meaty parts of your uncooked chicken or turkey. Roast your chicken or turkey as usual. If you’re really adventurous, use this marinade in a turkey that is destined for the turkey fryer

If you are using a traditional oven method, plan on keeping some of those pan drippings for gravy. The spice will come through just enough to add a lovely flavor. We made a chicken last week, and we used the leftover gravy in both a stir-fry (simply added a few tablespoons at the end) and chicken soup.

Notes:

Reserve a small amount of the marinade and brush it on the outside of your bird. In addition to the marinade, we also sprinkled on a little more of THE JERK Spice Blend.

Enjoy!
